Where do we come from

We had the incredible chance to travel the world: Travelling broadens people‘s horizon, opnes our mind and makes us discover things we would have never imagined.

When Anca first moved to France in 2006 she didn’t speak a word of French and her first communication with Mat was basically with hands, feet and drawings. She was warmly welcomed by Mats family and the language problem was quickly overcome.

In the beginning of our relationship we lived in the parisian region of Marne la Vallée. After his time as Space Ranger at Disneyland Paris, Mat used to work as a control-technician controlling lifting and handling machines. When Anca decided to stay in France  with Mat, she started studying  tourism management.

After her studies Anca started working for an international company and worked a couple of month in England, a year in Belgium and travelled a lot for work within Europe.

Life in Paris is very busy and for us it became too busy.

What is it worth to work from morning until evening and being too tired to realize that time flies by too fast.

What can you do? After nine years we decided to sell most of our stuff, give up our appartment and we went to Australia.

Australia turned out to be the best choice of our life!

We tried so many things we never had the chance to try before:

  • We worked on different fruit and vegetable farms
  • We lived in working hostels
  • We lived in the heart of one oft he biggest cities in the country, Sydney
  • We vaccinated cows o an organic cattle farm in the middle of nowhere
  • We made cheese and used the sheepway for vodkamaking on a sheepfarm in Tasmania
  • We cut vines on vinyard in Margaret River
  • We travelled for month with only our tent and our car all around Australia (we only missed Uluru)
  • Anca became mum to a lamb called Fred who had lost his mother

And the list could go on and on and on.

In short, this was one oft he best experience in our life.

We soon started to rethink our life. Do we want to continue the way we used to live in France when we go back to Europe? The answer was very easy and quick to find:

No! Definetly not!

We didn’t want to live our lives depending on the frames society dictates to most poeple. We where the happiest the day we only had our car and our tent and we wanted to continue to live this feeling of happiness.

Back in Europe we first moved to Germany, found new jobs and a small house where we continued our experiments:

Over the years Mat acquiered some knowledge about solar engergy, he installed solar panels on the roof, built a solar oven and a drier so Anca could start drying her plants for herbal tea.

Anca started making kombucha, while Mat started brewing his own beer and making his cheese himself.

The garden soon changed into a jungle of sunflowers, potatoes, tomatoes and a greenhouse with five rabbits und a cat.

Soon our son Max was born, who is keeping us busy in his charming way

Today we are working on a family project and want to buy a farm where we would like to present and introduce our concept.
